KC has been a carer for her husband since he was knocked down collecting the morning paper and broke his hip.
He was in hospital for two months, suffering from blood clots in his lungs, pneumonia, and limited mobility.
KC has diabetes and other health problems, too, but the only break she gets from her caring role is the weekly art class she attends. She feels that these art classes are crucial for her overall wellbeing, however she was struggling to meet costs and thought she might not be able to attend for much longer.
After her self-referring to n-compass, we have provided KC with emotional support, advised her on our support groups for carers, assessed her for the Living Well Fund which she now spends on her art classes, and gave her information on holiday companies which provide on-site care.
On top of that, n-compass has given KC details of Stroke Association groups near her, where she can attend and access support.
"Thank you for everything, the service is great." - KC
