Connect 5 Training

The right conversations can make a real difference in supporting good mental health.

Connect 5 is a short training course that focusses on what helps (& what hinders) conversations about mental wellbeing.  It includes the NHS-backed ‘5 Ways to Wellbeing’ and also offers signposting options for support with mental wellbeing. The Connect 5 course was designed to be delivered to anyone whose role involves supporting others; however, feedback consistently shows that the content is helpful to both the work and personal lives of attendees.

The training is delivered in an engaging way that avoids attendees being put on the spot but also gently invites participation. It is delivered professionally with a mixture of power-point (minimal content), video (short clips) and group discussions (no role-plays!)

This evidence-based training helps professionals support their patients and clients to better manage their mental health, build resilience, and take positive steps towards overall well-being. By developing practical skills, staff can make a real difference in the lives of those they work with, whilst also learning some useful tips for personal well-being.

Flexible And Fully-Funded Training Options Include:

  • Basic (half-day session) – Ideal for those looking for an introduction to mental well-being conversations.
  • Complete (full-days session) Expanded content of the basic format plus a module on suicide with accompanying signposting.
  • Available in-person or online (via Teams).
  • Completely FREE for anyone working or living in Lancashire and South Cumbria.
