Citizen Involvement

Service User Co-Production

We believe the best services are shaped by the people who use them. Our Citizen Involvement programme ensures that service users have a real voice in how we develop and deliver support.

Through large-scale consultations, everyday feedback, and collaborative decision-making, we work alongside service users to improve services and create meaningful change.

Ways to get involved

We recognise that involvement looks different for everyone. Whether through formal consultations or more informal conversations, every contribution matters.

Feedback

  • Large-scale consultations
Engaging with service users across our services to gather insights on what works and what needs improving.
  • Feedback mechanisms
Ongoing opportunities to share experiences through surveys, focus groups, and direct conversations with staff.
  • Complaints & concerns
A transparent process where service users can raise issues and contribute to improving service quality.

Co-producing services together

  • User-led support plans
Shaping care and support based on personal goals, ensuring services are truly person-centred.
  • Informal gatherings
Creating spaces for open discussions, peer support, and shared experiences.
  • Co-designing local activities
Collaborating with service users to plan and shape community-based support and social opportunities.

Citizen involvement board

At the heart of our approach is the Citizen Involvement Board – a group of service user representatives from across N-Compass services.

The board meets regularly with our Chief Executive, influencing senior management and board-level decision-making.
